What are the top mistakes people make when buying Christmas lights?

When it comes to decorating for the holidays, buying the right Christmas lights can make all the difference in creating a stunning display. However, there are a few common mistakes that people often make when purchasing lights. Here’s what you should watch out for to ensure your holiday decorations are just what you envision:

Buying from big-box retailers: Lower quality lights that often fail quickly; opt for pro-grade lights instead.

Not using empty socket light lines: Missed opportunity to customize color and spacing; use these for a more personalized display.

Avoiding pure white lights: Fear of bluish tint; invest in true pure white LED lights for a classic, sophisticated look.

Lack of planning: Not buying enough lights or overspending; plan your display to avoid these issues.

What are some of the most impactful colors?

Pure White: Creates a clean, sophisticated look, ideal for residential displays.

Red: Powerful for retail, directs attention, and evokes feelings of love and togetherness.

Green: Gender-neutral and universally appealing, making it a crowd-pleaser.

Blue: Popular among both men and women, perfect for any display, residential or retail.

What is the difference between LED Christmas lights and incandescent bulbs?

While all modern Christmas lights are now LED, there are still some people who are using old sets of incandescent lights. However, the benefits of LED lights are numerous. Some of the most notable benefits of LED lights are:

LED lights are much brighter than incandescent bulbs and won’t fade over time.

LED lights produce a more intense color.

LEDs use less energy, thereby helping the environment and saving you money.

LED lights sets connect easily to each other.

LED lights last much longer and are more durable than incandescent bulbs.

LED lights sets come in a variety of colors and sizes.

When should we install Christmas lights?

What’s great about custom Christmas lights is you can have them installed anytime and not turn them on until you are ready. Typically, we see people turning on their Christmas lights in December or right after Thanksgiving. This can lead people to want their lights in stalled a day or two before Thanksgiving or even in early December. However, getting your lights installed earlier in the season is especially important if you live in a snowy area. The earlier the install your lights will ensure the safety of your light installer and that you can turn your lights on right when you want to. Don't wait until it's too late! November can be a busy time for light installation business, so getting on our schedule as soon as possible will benefit both you and us.

Can I leave my Christmas lights up year round?

While LED Christmas lights are durable and energy-efficient, it's not recommended to leave them up year-round. Continuous exposure to the elements can cause wear and tear, reducing their lifespan. It's best to take them down after the holiday season and store them properly to keep them in good condition for the next year.

How much does professional light installation cost?
